Love it but....
By Jeep lover | on Wednesday, December 14, 2022
Bought brand new. At 300 miles, I started hearing a clanging noise during acceleration @17mph and @25mph during decel. Took it to 2 dealers (first one is where I bought it 55 miles away but they said they didnt hear it, 2nd one in my neighborhood heard it and said its "normal"), finally a 3rd dealer diagnosed it as a failed transfer case and replaced it. The new transfer case was installed and the replacement made the same sound @ 17 and 25. Back to the 3rd dealer and finally 5 days later the trans specialist and "engineering dept" decided its a failed front end differential. Seriously??? I love the Jeep, everyone in the family has a Jeep...mine is the only one with a failed differential.… - 1.0
Keep your sanity...don't buy a Jeep
By Former Jeep Fan | on Monday, August 11, 2025
I used to work at the assembly plant where my new Jeep GC was built. So I really wanted to love my new Jeep. But in just seven months it's already been towed to the dealership, spent almost two weeks at the dealership over two visits due to a dead battery and then a misaligned hood rubbing the fender. I'm now battling with the customer care to get the paint damage from the hood resolved. Overall, it's been an extremely disappointing ownership experience. Keep your sanity and buy Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Acura instead of dealing with this. This Jeep has already been in the shop more than my 10+ year old 4Runner and MDX combined! Jeep leadership should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not just dealing with bad quality, but I'm wasting hours of my time and am out of pocket for Ubers and car rentals!… - 3.0
Good solid car -- with too many minor annoyances
By Jake | on Friday, November 22, 2024
My previous vehicle was a 2014 JGC ecoDiesel, the first year Jeep reintroduced a diesel engine to the car. I loved that car - great torque and great mileage (31-32 mpg highway). I passed over the 2014 V6 gas engine because it just seemed underpowered to me. I didn't even want to test drive the 2022 V6 because of that memory but the salesperson convinced me to try it, saying it was a very different experience. And it is! Great pickup, good mileage for a car that size and weight (approx 26 mpg highway). Solid feel to the vehicle, not cheap and "tinny". But ... Many electrical issues. It was completely DOA on 2 occasions and had to be jumped to go to the dealer -- and no, I didn't leave anything on. Another time, as soon as I started it, every idiot light lit up the dashboard and remained on and bells kept chiming. I even didn't have power steering! Luckily, this happened in a strip mall parking lot literally across the street from the dealer (what are the odds?!?) and I was able to muscle the steering to get there. Guess what? I shut the car off and in the 5 minutes I was in complaining to the service manager it just fixed itself. In the 5 months since, though, random things don't work. Currently, the front collision mitigation warning light is on and my "Paddle shifting disabled". Service has no idea why, so I'll have to leave it yet again. Start/stop feature hasn't worked about 95% of the time I've had the car. it's been in 3 times so far for this and each time they promise me it's fixed, it works again as designed -- for about a week. And every couple weeks I'm doing a 200+ mile highway drive each way, so it's not as if the batteries aren't getting charged up. That's why I only rate the car a 3-star out of 5. Too many electrical (?) issues to recommend this vehicle. I have zero faith that it won't leave me stranded somewhere sometime and I'm sure I won't be across the street from the dealer when it happens.…
